This is the second such consignment of over 30-kilogram Heroin which has been confiscated in Punjab. Earlier, on August 8th, Punjab Police in joint operation with BSF has seized the same amount of contraband from two accused in this border district of Ferozepur.

Similarly, on August 7th, five persons were arrested with 21 kilograms of Heroin from a border village in Amritsar.

According to police sources, preliminary investigations reveal that these consignments were sent from across the International Border by foreign-based drug smugglers through Drones which were received by Indian smugglers for further transportation and distribution.

Besides these narcotics, a large number of arms and ammunition and a hand grenade have also been recovered during these days.
