The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that it will conduct the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) three times a year, with the third exam scheduled for October 31, 2026.
This decision comes after postponing the regular FMGE to a later date in January or February 2027.
The examination will continue to be administered through a computer-based platform at various centers across the country.
This additional FMGE is aimed at providing eligible foreign medical graduates with an extra opportunity to sit for the screening test before their next regular examination.
The FMGE serves as a screening test for Indian students and certain overseas Indian citizens who have obtained their primary medical qualifications from institutions outside India and wish to practice medicine in India.
NBEMS has advised candidates to refer to the Information Bulletin, which will be published separately on its official website, natboard.edu.in, for detailed schedule and application dates.
