Kerala's Independence Day programme included three public concerts by armed forces bands, combining patriotic and popular music with the coordinated marching displays associated with military ensembles. Akashvani listed events in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kannur.
The Air Force Band was scheduled at Nishagandhi in Thiruvananthapuram, while the Southern Naval Command Band was assigned to Lulu Mall in Ernakulam. The Ezhimala Naval Academy Band was listed for Thazhe Chovva in Kannur.
All three programmes were set to begin at 6 p.m. As part of the Independence Day celebrations. The format placed live music in accessible public venues while representing the precision, coordination and discipline of the participating services.
