The United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade and financial transactions with Iran, following the detection of two ballistic missiles launched from Iranian territory towards the Gulf.
UAE Foreign Ministry Communications Director Afra Al Hameli stated that the decision is aimed at safeguarding regional stability and upholding the integrity of the international financial system.
In response, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei rejected the UAE's claim, emphasizing the need for dialogue and peace in the region.
The UAE's move comes after its air defense systems detected the missiles, which were later confirmed to have fallen into the sea, highlighting the ongoing tension between the two nations.
This latest development underscores the UAE's commitment to regional integration and peace, while also reflecting Iran's stance on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route for Gulf countries.
