Two legislators from the Kuki-Zo community - Haokholet Kipgen and Kimneo Haokip Hangshing attended the session physically today, marking the first time in over three years since ethnic violence in the State.
Haokholet Kipgen said he is happy to come back to attend the Assembly session after a long time and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step toward fostering unity and peace in the State.
On the opening day of the session, the House conducted an obituary reference for the four Ex-MLAs and the Leader of the House placed the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Manipur Private School (Registration and Regulation) Rules, 2024 and the Manipur Town and Country Planning (Sixth Amendment) Ordinance, 2026. Later, the opposition and ruling party debated the implementation of NRC before the Census operation in Manipur.
