The Union Public Service Commission has published category-wise merit lists from the 2025 Combined Section Officers' Grade B Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.

The written examination was held in December 2025, followed by evaluation of service records in June 2026. The recommended candidates are listed for inclusion in the 2025 select lists of the services covered by the examination.

The result applies to the Section Officers' Grade of the Central Secretariat Service and the Railway Board Secretariat Service. It also covers Section Officers in the Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service.

The fourth group comprises Assistant Director, Section Officer and Manager Grade I posts in the Employees' State Insurance Corporation. The Commission's notice presents the reported vacancies and recommended candidates separately for the relevant categories and services.

Results for 17 candidates have been kept in sealed cover. The breakdown given by the Commission is nine candidates in Category I, four in Category III, one in Category VIII and three in Category XI.

A sealed-cover result is not a final public recommendation for the affected candidate at this stage. Their position remains subject to the conditions and proceedings identified by the Commission.

The UPSC said final selection under different categories will be decided with reference to Department of Personnel and Training guidelines issued on 12 April 2022. It is also subject to the final outcome of Civil Appeal No. 629 of 2022 arising from the cited special-leave petition.

Candidates should therefore read the service-specific merit list together with the notes attached to the result. The operative information is the Commission's published list, the vacancy position and any conditional status recorded against an individual candidature.
