The Indian Air Force hockey team defeated the Indian Navy 2-1 to win the seventh Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament on 3 July.

The competition was held from 23 June to 3 July at the Amit Singh Bakshi Hockey Stadium at Air Force Station Jalahalli. Sixteen teams took part in the 2026 edition.

The Air Force and Navy reached the title match after progressing through the tournament field. The final was decided by a one-goal margin, with the Air Force holding on for a 2-1 victory.

Sergeant Anand Lakra of the Air Force was named player of the match for the final. AGV (S) Agyapal, also representing the Air Force, received the player of the tournament award for his performance across the competition.

The winning team received the championship trophy, medals and a cash award of Rs 10 lakh. The Navy collected the runner-up honours and a cash award of Rs 8 lakh.

The event is named after Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh and brings teams together through a competitive services hockey programme. The 16-team field and ten-day schedule gave the finalists a sustained tournament route before the deciding match.

For the Air Force side, the result delivered both major individual awards as well as the title. The Navy finished one goal short in the final but left Jalahalli with the runner-up trophy and prize.

The closing ceremony was held at 7:30 am on 3 July at the same venue, completing the tournament schedule before the team and individual awards were presented.

Across the ten-day competition, sixteen teams played for places in the service tournament's knockout stages and the final between the two armed-forces sides.
